The Devil's Bridge

There are so many beautiful places in Italy, but sometimes a place can be as beautiful as spooky.

We are talking of the "The Devil's Bridge", also knows as Maddalena Bridge.

In the morning the Bridge is a suggestive masterpiece, which was built in 16th and adapted over time depending on the needs. It's impossible not to get fascinated by the mirror effect of the large arc over the water surface. It was used as a boat passage. Not to mention the green landscape nearby.

What this bridge hides though is a dark Legend. According to such a legend, Saint Julian was the one in charge to build the Bridge.

But he was not up to the task, so he decided to ask the Devil itself for help, offering him in return the soul of the first living being who would have crossed the bridge.

Unfortunately, the Devil is not the only cheater. After the bridge was finished Saint Julian threw a piece of bread onto the bridge, luring a stray dog.

Nobody knows if the Devil appreciated enough...

I would say it didn't, during night time there is a dark aura over the Bridge, maybe is the Devil still waiting for a worthy Soul...
