Columbus never dies

While the country was celebrating Independence Day a bunch of thugs in Baltimore toppled the Christopher Columbus Statue and threw it into the Harbor.

What really happened? What does it mean?

Let's recap. Few people, which are not representing the majority of the country, so by definition "antidemocratically", thought that they could have decided for the whole country.

And following their twisted mind, they believed it was right to destroy a monument that was really important for the Italian-American Community.

What is the consequence of such an action?

Many are the consequences, anything but what was the goal of the vandals:

1. Destroying a statue can't erase history.
2. Destroying a statue didn't kill that "evil man" named Columbus.
3. Destroying a statue doesn't erase the grit, motivation, and history of generations of Italians Immigrants.
4. Destroying a statue shows that the "evil men" didn't die after Columbus, they are alive and still doing evil deeds, like vandalizing, pillaging, and profaning history.
