Naples, oh sweet Naples. If you have been over there and missed the Royal Palace of Caserta shame on you!
It's just 21 miles away from Naples, in the City of Caserta.
This magnificence was the Palace of Borbone of Naples, and it's under the UNESCO flag since 1997.
When they built the Palace the main goal was not only to make something even more gorgeous of Versailles itself but at the same time make a more defensible building far from Sea.
The man behind this masterpiece is a Neapolitan architect, of dutch origins, whose name is Luigi Vanvitelli.
The building started in 1752 and completed in 1847. Almost 1 century to finish it, but it was worth it!
It took 100 years and sweat and efforts but they did it.
Just bear in mind these numbers: 1200 rooms and 1742 windows... It extends over a surface of 44.000 square meters.
But there is more than the Palace itself. After you visit the entrance and the Palace, room by room, you will get to the immense Park.
It's a long way, around 2 miles to reach the end. You can get a raid on the small "kids train", but for the bravest ones, the long walk will allow a better enjoyment of the architecture.
What happens at the end of the path? Well, the cherry on the cake. Because you will get to the "British Garden", a dream place.
