How many Pizzeria there is in the US? How many types of Pizza can you find?

You would be surprised to find out that almost 95% of them has nothing to do with the Italian Style Pizza. What makes a Pizza an Italian Pizza?

** How to eat Pizza ** Let's start with the way we eat Pizza. For many New Yorkers, the Pizza has to be eaten holding it with one hand, while the Oil is pouring on the ground, then bite it like a Savage Animal. For the Italians, the rule is "Fork and Knife". Most Italians break such rule, but they still prefer biting Pizza slowly, to better taste it. Also, the typical Italian Pizza is not too Oily, there isn't a real need for dumping Oil.

** What should be the right shape? ** The traditional Napolitan Pizza has the typical triangular shape.

** How many topping should a Pizza have? ** If we look at New York and Chicago the Pizza tends to be thicker and has an average of 3-4 toppings. It's also not only the number of toppings but the sheer quantity of each one, usually multiple layers. In Italy Pizza can even just have 2 toppings, and tends to be fresh and have a well-balanced quantity of each one. The keyword is "Simplicity": what matters is the right ingredient in the right place. The ingredients have to blend with others(the Pineapple is banned...). The quantity is moderate because there is a focus on the dough taste.

** Are the ingredients fresh? ** In the US in 90% of the cases are not used fresh Mozzarella Cheese. You would have probably noticed on the Supermarket shelves the so-called Mozzarella labeled as "Pizza Topping". That's not Mozzarella Cheese, plain and simple. Neither is Mozzarella that White Tasteless Golf Ball looking that is sold as "Italian Mozzarella". Also, many ingredients are imported and non-biological.

In conclusion, these are just some points to be aware of. Of course, we all eat some New York or Chicago Pizza, and it's not a crime making Pizza a different way.

I just want you to imagine a different Pizza next time you eat some American one.
