We all know Andrew Cuomo. Don't we?
We will talk today of the Governor, but most importantly the Italian-American.
New York was built, among many, by an amazing Italian Community, and Andrew still carries that burden, responsibility, and blessings.
56th Governor of New York since 2011. It has been a long way until now. The major challenge as Politician and man has probably been for him the handling of the Coronavirus Emergency.
Of course, we are humans, and as such we can make mistakes. No, being an Italian doesn't make you perfect...
Cuomo is blamed now for a mistake that could have cost thousands of lives. Why did he send every patient to the nursing homes, putting at risk the old and sick? Even the nursing homes that protested were ordered to take patients.
He eventually changed his mind at some point, and "tacitly" admitted the error putting in place a new rule that requires to test negative before a patient can be sent to the nursing home.
Should Cuomo openly admit his mistake and say "Sorry" to the thousands of families that lost their loved ones, because of his mistakes?
Ironically we can make mistakes because we love so much the people we are taking care of.
But the Governor has never hidden such love for New York, and the Italian-American Community.
He has always been a great man, enough brave to take hard decisions and speak his mind. On that path, he recently supported the Italian Community speaking against the Columbus Statue removal.
Follow your heritage Andrew, make your father proud of you!
