This is a history that started in Plainville, were our hero
aka Antonio "Tony" Tolli was born.
He represented the perfect Italian-American since he was only 2 years old when his family migrated back to Italy(in Marigliano, Naples).
His travel to follow the American dream started in 1930 when he went back to the US at age 18. Since then Tony started developing his skills by practicing in his uncle's pastry shop.
Marzullo opened with his cousin a Pizzeria in 1934, which they called "Washington Pizzeria". After only 2 years he decided to leave the Pizzeria and move the business elsewhere. Finally, in 1936 he would open Tony's Apizza.
His dreams made a long way from the Great Depression throughout the WW2. And the old Pizza became the place that we will know as Modern Apizza.
The time passes by, but the tradition is always untouched. They have always owned their hoven to cook Pizza the old way, and so is now by the young generations.
Give a bite to this pizza and while you are over there give a look at the wall, every brick is a piece of history, and as such brick by brick was built cementing with passion and skills.
